There have been rumours about Google ending the Nexus line of devices, but if what we’re seeing now is any indication, those rumours are anything but true. Two new successors of the existing devices, Nexus 6 and Nexus 8, have been spotted in Chromium code, and they’re still present on the said page.
I’ve looked for the rumoured codenames that have been talked about, but they’re not there yet, which is interesting. Apart from that, the timing is important as well – Google I/O is about 40-odd days away now, and we’ve all been expecting the successor of Nexus 7 for sometime now. HTC is going to make the new tablet, but that’s all we know about it for now. The Nexus 6 is a bit interesting though, since the Nexus 5 was announced in October, which, by June, will only be 8 months old. The Nexus 7 2013, on the other hand, will be 11 months old.
We’re also expecting the announcement of a newer version of Android at the IO event, so it looks like there’s going to be plenty to look forward to.
